Simone Hutsch, a graphic designer by profession, found her passion in architecture photography. She was drawn to the exploration of geometry in architecture, which she describes as exciting. Her work allows viewers to dive into a different world, where buildings take on a surreal touch through her retouching process.
The uniqueness of Hutsch's work lies in her focus on glass facades, which she finds fascinating. The same building can look different each time one looks at it. This uniqueness is especially pronounced during sunsets when some buildings appear as if they were on fire. This series features cities like Berlin and London, captured in the beauty of their architectural geometry.
Hutsch's work is realized using a Canon 7D camera and Adobe Photoshop. The images are available as art prints in A4, A3, and A2 sizes. They can serve as an exhibition in a gallery, adding a touch of minimalistic architecture to any space. These prints are available on high-quality stock in her online store, ready to frame.
The project started in January 2020 in Berlin and London, with Hutsch capturing images during sunsets. The editing process was completed in March 2020, and the images were subsequently posted on Behance, where they were featured in Architecture Photography. Hutsch describes the challenge of capturing the right light and reflection during sunsets, a task that required a keen eye for perspective and an understanding of how angles, patterns, and lines change with the viewer's point of view.
Simone Hutsch's work stands as a testament to her skill and creativity in architecture photography. Her series on the beauty of sunsets, moonrises, and reflections has not only won her the Silver A' Photography and Photo Manipulation Design Award in 2021 but also the admiration of her peers and the public. Her work showcases a remarkable level of excellence and introduces positive feelings, amazement, and wonder, proving that architecture is not just about buildings, but also about the interplay of light, geometry, and perspective.
